Let’s define blogging.  According to www.dictionary.com, a blog can be used as a noun or a verb in these definitions:

“noun

  1. a website containing a writer’s or group of writers’ own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites.

  1. a single entry or post on such a website:

She regularly contributes a blog to the magazine’s website.

verb (used without object), blogged, blogging.

  1. to maintain or add new entries to a blog.”

Now that we have defined a blog, let’s look at the reasons for a blog.  I asked some fellow real estate investors: How does blogging affect your business?  Those answers coincide with the article below stating many specific reasons about why businesses should write a blog can be found in this website link:

  • Reason #2 states: “Your blog fuels SEO. Search engines love valuable content and will reward you for it.” That is exactly the reason from The Norris Group in Riverside, California does a blog for their business: “Our blog is a service to our network and we get many leads from our SEO work. It’s very effective.”  (In case you need a translation, SEO is Search Engine Optimization.  This means that when someone types in specific keywords into a search engine such as Google, those keywords can be found in this person’s business website blog.)  How will a business be rewarded?  That business website will become one of the sites in the first page of hits, and someone will be very curious about why that website came up.  Then clicks, then reading, then curiosity, then a lead.  Sounds like a winner!
  • Reason #17 is: “Blogs are cost-effective marketing investments. Every post you publish is a long-term asset that helps build brand awareness and promote your expertise, products and services.” A Fortune Builders Mastery Student was spot on with why her business does blogging: “I think blogging is indirect marketing.  I do it to drive web traffic.  It also showcases your expertise helping you to gain trust and credibility with your audience.”

Now to address the question: How is blogging going to help me as a buyer or seller with my house?????  From the Sprout Content site:

  • Reason #6: “It gives your company a voice. A blog creates a place to talk about new products or services, comment on timely news topics or market trends, and share company initiatives beyond your website. It’s also the place to let your brand’s personality shine and show people what you’re all about.”
  • Reason #7 states: “Writing a blog shares your expertise. How else will you position yourself as a subject area expert and thought leader?
  • Reason #13: “A blog builds confidence, relationships and sales. Customers will look to you as a reliable resource for information on your industry; then come to you to buy.”

Finally, the long awaited question: How does blogging affect YOU?

A buyer or seller wants the real estate investor to have knowledge and concrete data to back up that knowledge.  Thus researched topics, such as in blogs, gain trust for a buyer or seller towards the real estate agent.  Since the topics of real estate investing are so vast, the blogger has an endless array of subjects to choose which is one reason why blogging is a way relationships can be established.

Reel Property Solutions, LLC has specific blog posts for a couple reasons.  First, I like to think of topics, research, and write.  That’s all great and everything, but to go the next step, the KNOWLEDGE learned or confirmed is what keeps me fresh with ideas to share!  For example, who knew Reason #19: “Blogging is inspiring. You’ll start to see ideas all around you..talking with friends and colleagues, watching movies, reading, and just walking down the street.”  I completely agree!  I have found the joy in reading other blogs, especially by other real estate investors.  I think about how this is helping my business, my relationships with others in investing, and my credibility is booming!  This website: https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/the-benefits-of-business-blogging-ht#sm.00001nbqoqwi2rfjexzeiepy7lpof reiterates what was already addressed from the Sprout Content website: driving traffic, getting leads, establishing authority, and long term results.  There are also secondary benefits to blogging.  Read through the article to find out more!
